Reliable environmental information is essential for effective policy-making, planning and

implementation for sustainable development. A better understanding by decision-makers and

society as a whole of the priority issues of concern in the Province will facilitate the development

of informed and integrated responses to address them. It also creates a sound basis for the

development and implementation of a public awareness campaign.
